Royals release 2025 Minor League affiliate rosters

The Kansas City Royals released the remainder of their 2025 minor league rosters on Wednesday. For the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers, the season is already underway. The team’s roster was released on MLB Opening Day, and they’ve gone 1-2 through their first three games this season. Here’s a look at the rosters for the rest of the team’s minor league affiliates.

Columbia Fireflies

Infielders: Angel Acosta, Colton Becker, Derlin Figueroa, Jorge Hernandez, Josi Novas, Stone Russell
Catchers: Ramon Ramirez, Dionmy Salon, Hyungchan Um
Outfielders: Giullianno Allende, Roni Cabrera, Asbel Gonzalez, Brennon McNair, Milo Rushford
Pitchers: Dash Albus, Dennis Colleran, Nicholas Conte, Josh Hansell, Tanner Jones, Henson Leal, Yunior Marte, Ismael Michel, Mason Miller, Fraynel Nova, Elvis Novas, Yeri Perez, Julio Rosario, Blake Wolters, Jordan Woods, Hiro Wyatt

The big names will be the headliners here, of course. Top prospects Ramon Ramirez, Blake Wolters, and Hiro Wyatt will open the season with the Fireflies in 2025. Others, including Derlin Figueroa, Josi Novas, and Yeri Perez, offer intrigue. Figueroa was acquired from the Dodgers in the Ryan Yarbrough trade. He spent 2024 with Columbia as well, flashing power potential. Novas is a shortstop with a large frame, offering potentially plus power output. He’ll just need to figure out the contact first. Finally, Yeri Perez may have one of the best fastballs in the entire farm system. He’s an interesting bullpen name who gets the first taste of Low-A in 2025.

Quad Cities River Bandits

Infielders: Austin Charles, Diego Guzman, Sam Kulasingam, Callan Moss, Daniel Vazquez
Catchers: Chris Brito, Canyon Brown, Omar Hernandez
Outfielders: Carter Frederick, Bryan Gonzalez, Carson Roccaforte, Erick Torres, Trevor Werner
Pitchers: Nate Ackenhausen, Felix Arronde, Drew Beam, AJ Causey, Zachary Cawyer, Tyler Davis, Chase Isbell, Logan Martin, Juan Martinez, Tommy Molsky, Caden Monke, Frank Mozzicato, Shane Panzini, Hunter Patteson, Nicholas Regalado, Jesus Rios, Mauriio Veliz

Some repeat names are heading to Quad Cities this season, including Frank Mozzicato and Carson Roccaforte. Both top 30 prospects could quickly reach Northwest Arkansas once the season begins. Erick Torres and Austin Charles both head to High-A for the first time in 2025 after standout performances at Low-A a year ago. On the pitching staff, 2024 draftees Drew Beam and AJ Causey figure to pitch key roles, along with Logan Martin. Martin was one of the Fireflies’ best pitchers a year ago.

Northwest Arkansas Naturals

Catchers: Kale Emshoff, Kyle Hayes, Carter Jensen
Outfielders: Gavin Cross, Diego Hernandez, Spencer Nivens, Connor Scott, Brett Squires

Northwest Arkansas will unquestionably be headlined by Jac Caglianone. The highly touted top prospect had a stellar spring and heads to Double-A to start his minor league season. Carter Jensen and Gavin Cross return to Northwest Arkansas but could move their way to Omaha by midseason with strong showings, as could Ben Kudrna, Beck Way, and Steven Zobac. Spencer Nivens could be the largest surprise to some folks after finishing last year on an impressive tear in the Midwest League.
