Lots of talk about trading Brady Singer to start the off-season. Personally, I don’t think you trade him. This team is expecting to contend again next season and with one, maybe two aging starters in the rotation it doesn’t make a lot of sense to trade a young controllable starter.
If you trade him, it has to fix a serious need in the lineup. At that point, you’re left depending on some mixture of Noah Cameron, Kris Bubic, Alec Marsh, and (maybe?) Kyle Wright to shore up the rotation.
The best Singer trade proposal I have is one that pairs him with a notable prospect in order to bring back enough value. What would Singer and Gavin Cross bring back?
Can Cross and Singer land a leadoff option like Lars Nootbar in St. Louis? I’m not even sure that’s enough value to make it worth it unless the free agent market goes dry for Kansas City.
I’m curious what people out there think Singer’s trade value really is.
