Right Back At Ya: Chasers Pummel Indians 8-2

It was just two days ago when the Indianapolis Indians put up 11 unanswered runs in four innings to bury the Omaha Storm Chasers quickly in an 11-3 victory.

The Storm Chasers gave the Indians a taste of their own medicine by scoring eight unanswered runs in the first four innings tonight to tie up the series.

Led by a great outing from Royals rehabber Kris Bubic and a balanced offensive attack, the Omaha Storm Chasers took down the Indianapolis Indians 8-2 and evened the seven-game series with the victory.

John Rave and CJ Alexander singled to start the game for the Chasers in the 1st Inning and came home on Devin Mann’s two-run double. Nick Pratto then lined a double to left to bring in Mann from 2nd base and give Omaha a 3-0 lead after just a half inning.

Omaha scored twice in the second inning thanks to a sacrifice fly from Drew Waters to score Austin Nola, then an RBI single from Alexander scored Rave to make it 5-0 Chasers after an inning and a half.

Cam Devanney socked a two-run home run to right field in the 3rd Inning, his 7th of the regular season and one that went 403ft, to put the Chasers up a touchdown and an extra point after three innings.

John Rave then drove one to the bottom of the videoboard in right field at the Top of the 4th to make it 8-0 Omaha. Statcast saw that homer to 445ft.

Royals fans might’ve liked what they saw from Kris Bubic this evening. Bubic began his rehab assignment with Omaha tonight going 3 2/3’s innings, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out seven. His fastball topped out at 94MPH. Bubic will most likely get another start sometime next week when the Storm Chasers host Memphis at Werner Park.

The Indians put up two runs on Austin Cox in the Bottom of the 6th on a solo home run from Mike Jarvis and an RBI single by Henry Davis, but that was all the Indians could muster in this game.

The Chasers shut down the Indians in the final three innings to even the series at one with a final of 8-2.
