Brady Singer

Singer got back on track Sunday after a difficult outing earlier in the week in Seattle. He finished his day with nine strikeouts across six innings. He allowed just one run while scattering six hits and a walk. Much like Monday’s start, Singer relied heavily on his sinker/slider combination. This time, however, it worked. He finished the day with eight whiffs and eight called strikes on his slider, good for a 36% CSW%.

The Royals Top of the Order

The top of the Royals order carried the load on offense as they have many times this season. The trio of Maikel Garcia, Bobby Witt Jr., and Salvador Perez combined for six hits and five RBI on the day. Vinnie Pasquantino — normally part of the lineup’s top half — pinch hit for Garrett Hampson in the sixth inning and tripled in three runs of his own.

Summary of the next game

The Royals open a series against the Detroit Tigers on Monday. It’ll be a three-game series, featuring Michael Wacha in game one for the Royals. The Tigers send Reece Olson to the mound. Detroit currently sits at .500, 23-23 on the season. They are, however, coming off a strong series against Arizona. The Tigers took two of three, outscoring the Diamondbacks 25 to 9.
