Spring Training Recap – 2/24/24

Final Score: TEX 4 | KC 5

Overall Spring Record: 1-1

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

Anthony Veneziano: Well, hello there, Anthony! Veneziano looked great over two innings of work today. He only gave up one hit and a walk while striking out three. Veneziano made his debut in 2023 after a solid minor league season. He finished 2023 with a 3.55 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 132 innings in the minors. He most likely starts the year in Omaha, but there is a good chance we see him getting a decent number of starts or as a bullpen weapon in the major leagues in 2024.

Christian Chamberlain: Chamberlain threw 0.1 innings while giving up one earned run, walking one, and striking out one. The line wasn’t the concern, though. Anne Rogers of MLB.com said that Chamberlain felt elbow tightness in the ninth inning. The trainer had visited the mound, and he is unfortunately scheduled for testing. The severity of the injury is unknown, but hopefully, it is nothing too serious. Chamberlain has come on the radar of many as a potential high-powered arm in the back end of a Royals bullpen. Hopefully, we will have updates soon.
